| Sbírka minerálů je systematické výběrové shromažďování nerostů. Je-li sběr počátkem sběratelovy radosti, budování sbírky je jejím vyvrcholením. Teprve skutečná sbírka nám dává představu o pestrosti a kráse minerálů, odhaluje nám nejrůznější zajímavosti a je současně ukazatelem, kam až jsme pokročili. Skutečnou sbírku je však nutno budovat již podle zcela přesných, všeobecně uznávaných zásad a pravidel. | The mineral collection is a systematic selective assembly of minerals. While the search affords the first pleasure to the collector, then the building of the collection represents the height of his activities. The building of a real collection should follow several exact and generaly respected principles. |

| Tuto zásadu je třeba dodržovat a oddělit určený materiál ve sbírce, určený materiál v depozitáři a neurčené minerály. Není žádná ostuda mít neučené nerosty - pokud jsou odděleny. Je to dobrý námět na diskusi s kolegou sběratelem. | We should therefore to keep the well identified material aside from the non-identified minerals and from the store. It is not shame to keep non-identified minerals, but they should deposited aside. They represent a good material for discussions with friends and further studies. |

| I takto lze definovat sbírku, která má své typické rysy, odlišné od třeba početného, avšak dosud neklasifikovaného materiálu.
